We’ve tried to watch some movies lately to get our mind off things, a sort of wacky array of films and cartoons both old and more recent: A Christmas Story (the Ralphie version), Felix the Cat (the 20s silent film version), Raiders of the Lost Ark, Men in Black, Santa Claus is Coming Town, Home Alone, and Popeye the Sailor Man . . .
Seems no matter the era or genre there was one common element:
Guns. Guns. Guns.
Ralphie risked putting his eye out with a bb gun, after all, and actually slept with his hard-won Red Ryder Carbine-Action 200-Shot Range Model Air Rifle.
An alarming image I just never noticed before.
And I found out, via a new filter, how prevalent our gun culture really is.
