Shaken, but not Stirred

Well, we are now post-earthquake, post-hurricane, re-powered with electric light, and tuned in to The Weather Channel—watching Irene’s tropical cousins, Lee and Katia, decide whether they are going to pay us a visit. And I’ve learned one thing: either my kids are very adaptable or they are disaster-traumatized:

My son just asked me, “Mom, when we get the aftershock of the hurricane, will we sleep upstairs, downstairs, or somewhere else?”
